Masterclasses


Masterclasses will begin on Wednesday, July the 18th, at 09:30 and will end on Saturday the 20th at 12:00. You need to check-in Tuesday the 17th between 15:00 and 18:00 at the Hotel EUROPA, Via Gorizia 35, 03014 Fiuggi

ALL KINDS OF MASTERCLASSES


- Classical Guitar Masterclass: 4 lessons with 4 teachers, with possibility of listening lessons of all other students and join the guitar orchestra. Registration is valid after submitting the registration form and a copy of bank transfer.

Subscriptions are open both to SOLOISTS and to ENSEMBLE with guitars. At the subscription, number of components and ensemble instruments need to be specified.
Ensemble with strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass) will be coordinated by Silvia Battisti D'Amario.

The availability of the master class with international teachers is limited and assigned on the basis of early subscription.

- Composition and Transcription Masterclass: the workshop provides lessons up to a maximum of 12 students. It is addressed to both composers and those interested only in the techniques of transcription. Each participant must submit either an original composition or a transcription (taken from the classical repertoire or from film music, jazz, pop, etc..) or both.
The selection has no entry fees.

Compositions and transcriptions must be for guitar, easy or medium difficulty, of the maximum length of 2 pages in PDF format and send via email at the festival (fiuggifestival@fastwebnet.it) together with all the data of the composer (Curriculum Vitae), not later than JUNE 20th, 2012, in order to participate to the selection.
The composition must have a title and haven't been ever published.

The organization will select 12 guitarists to who will be sent the registration form.
The compositions and transcriptions of all participants will be analyzed and developed with the selected teachers during the festival.
All selected guitarists have the ability also to attend all master classes of other teachers, lectures and concerts of the event.

The result of the masterclass will be the publication of transcriptions of the selected participants in the anthology series by Roberto Fabbri: Guitar Anthology Volume IV.
The best original compositions (up to a maximum of three), chosen by M° Leo Brouwer, will be included in the same publication. The volume will be accompanied by a CD containing the execution of all the pieces.

The volume will be presented and published in the seventh edition of the Fiuggi Gutar Festival, with a concert during which all the pieces will be performed.
Corrections and final versions will be sent to the festival email by the end of August 2012.

- Flamenco Masterclass: a full immersion into the world of flamenco with Juan Lorenzo.
- Campus Ragazzi: 3 lessons with Italin teachers of the festival and daily orchestra of guitars, for kids under 17y.
- Acustic-Jazz Guitar Masterclass: in class with teachers of acoustic-jazz guitar of the festival.
- Auditors entire festival: possibility of listen all masterclasses of other students and join the guitar orchestra.
